I’m a Fan of the No-Makeup Makeup Look, and These Are the Products I Love

Simply put, it’s our job to find the best beauty products out there for you. From the newest serum to the hottest lipstick color to the dry shampoo that will change your life, we will find it, test it, and let you know what we think. We’re not complaining. It’s a pretty fun gig, and we’ll volunteer to be beauty guinea pigs any day.

But one of the cool things to come out of this is finding out what products you’re loving and buying. It helps us figure out what you want to learn more about and what you’re into so we can bring even more personalized recs to you.

Because we share a lot of our favorites with you every single day, we recognize it might be hard to keep up. So we’ve decided to put together a handy weekly list of what we love and what you love—consider this a CliffsNotes, one-stop shop of what’s really trending and worth adding to your cart at this very moment.

This week, I’m talking about my love of the no-makeup makeup look. It’s my go-to and I’m sharing what helps me achieve it, plus some favorites from editors and best-sellers. Take a look at what the Who What Wear universe (including editors, staffers, and readers) is obsessed with right now, and if you don’t see a new favorite on this list, we’d love to know. Send us a DM.

Sign up for The List where you’ll find exclusive discounts, opportunities to co-create products for our fashion brands, and a central place to manage your Who What Wear newsletters. Additionally, as you “heart” products and authors and “bookmark” articles on our site, they’ll populate in your Favorites Lists. As we roll out new features, you’ll always be the first to know.

I prioritize my skincare, which helps me get away with wearing minimal makeup. Supergoop’s Glowscreen is my absolute favorite because it does so much for my skin: protects it from the sun and blue light, hydrates, and primes it for makeup products. Plus, it leaves such a nice glow that I’ll wear just this and no makeup most of the time.

Glossier’s moisturizer is lightweight, breathable, and buildable. You don’t need an extra primer product here because it works to even skin tone and minimize the appearance of pores.

When it comes to my no-makeup makeup look, I normally just swipe on a few dabs of concealer to cover up blemishes, dark circles, and redness. I love this one from Hourglass because it provides full coverage but doesn’t feel too heavy or cakey. The finish is smooth and effortless.

Even though I normally just stick to concealer, there are some days when I need a bit more coverage. I’ve been using Clinique’s BB cream for 10 years, and I don’t think I’ll ever stop. It evens out my skin tone, conditions my skin, and covers up any blemishes.

When I do use foundation, I prefer a stick formula. This product from Merit is not quite a foundation and not quite a concealer, so to me, it’s just perfect. The formula is buildable, so I can add as little or as much as I need depending on the state of my skin. It goes on smoothly and isn’t drying at all.

Whether you’re wearing a full face of makeup or want to keep it minimal, you’ve got to have a good mascara either way. You really can’t go wrong with this iconic mascara. It always leaves me with the fullest, most lifted lashes, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t have very many to begin with.

A bunch of my Who What Wear colleagues always rave about this mascara, saying it’s ultra lengthening and long-lasting. It also contains nourishing ingredients like keratin, shea butter, and beeswax.

This is probably my favorite drugstore mascara because it manages to make my lashes so voluminous looking with just a few coats. It also doesn’t flake, which is always a plus.

Maintaining my brows is another important step in my no-makeup makeup look. I always keep Benefit’s Gimme Brow in my makeup bag because it’s so easy to apply and always makes my eyebrows look so defined.

I mean, Glossier’s Boy Brow needs no introduction or explanation. The cult-favorite product is just so beloved because it leaves such a natural look.

You can really do a lot with a cream blush when it comes to minimal makeup––it works on your cheekbones, and you can also apply a little bit to your eyelids. I love that this one from Merit gives me such a subtle and oh-so-flattering flush.

It’s so easy to apply this gel-cream blush, and it just blurs seamlessly into your skin. The finish is slightly dewy for that glowy look.

When I first got this, I couldn’t believe that such a tiny product could pack so much color and do so much. First, it’s just a little bit bigger than a quarter, so you can stash it anywhere. Second, the buildable color can be used on your lips and cheeks, and it’s so creamy and moisturizing.

If you’re going for a natural look, Pillow Talk is a no-brainer. The original shade is so subtle and flattering, so it really does look like you’re not wearing too much product (or any at all).

I love these tinted lip oils because they do such a good job of conditioning my chapped lips and leave a nice hint of color. My favorite shade is Fig, which has a berry tint.

A mix between a balm and a gloss, this drugstore find glides on so easily and leaves a matte finish. It’s enriched with shea butter, jojoba oil, and kendi oil.

Most of the time, my look consists of mascara, brow gel, concealer, and a lip product, but sometimes, I want to spice things up a bit with bronzer for more of a glow. My current favorite is this one from Charlotte Tilbury that doesn’t make me look orange. The final result always looks natural.

If I’m reaching for a bronzer, I might as well add a little touch of luminosity with a highlighter. I just like to apply a bit on my cheekbones, inner eyes, and nose.

Even though I’m keeping my makeup minimal, I always add a setting spray for staying power. I’ve been using Urban Decay’s for ages, and it’s never let me down. It doesn’t leave my face tight, and it feels hydrating. Next up, We Tried and Rated 24 Iconic Charlotte Tilbury Products—Here’s the Honest Tea
